This moon is are only natural satellite and the fifth largest satellite in the solar system. The moon is the size of  0.020 Earth's. It weighs 0.0123 Earth's and because Pluto being so small our moon is bigger than it. The feature's are mostly known. It has various of impact crater's and seas across this satellite  (not water seas),which can be tell my its dark region. The most famous part of the moon is the 'Mare Tranquillitatis' (sea of tranquility), that's were Apollo 11's  Neil Armstrong landed.Others like one of the largest crater in the solar system 'South-Pole Aitken Basin'. But other big crater's are still out there  like the  largest multi-ring structure crater in Callisto and more in Mars. Normally the crater landscape is named after famous people.

Moon comes from moone which comes from mone which comes from a german word which is mǣnōn.

The Greek Goddess of the MOON is Selene Greek-->(Σελήνη)<--Greek
The word 'Moon' comes from the Roman titan luna

Most of the Moon is mantel while 480km of its partial melt and 330km is fluid outer core and another 240km is the solid inner core.

We may orbit the Sun but the moon orbits the Earth. It takes 28 days to make a full orbit and while its orbiting we can see the moon in parts. There is a picture below to help you understand a bit more.

Eclipses

Eclipses can only occur when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are all in a conjuction. Solar Eclipses can happen if its a new moon and it is in a straight line. Lunar eclipses can only happen if its a full moon and in a straight line.

The Space Race And Missions

The Space Was A Race For Which Country First To The Moon And To Walk On It. The Space Race was a mid-to-late twentieth century competition between the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States (USA).  USA had won with there Apollo 11 mission Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked onto the moon. Although a russia man named Yuri Gagarin was the first man in space (except from animal). But When Jim Lovell found out that Neil Armstrong walked on the moon he wanted to do something better and go there as well. Jim went with Jack Swigert and Fred Haise in Apollo 13, they got into space and then they had a major problem, but they landed back on Earth Safely

History

It all started in world war II when a clever German scientist named Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr Von braun or Wernher Von braun made the very first rocket named the 'V-2'. It was used to bomb England and other axis. Soon after, the 'US' sended troops to destroy the factory and bases, taking all they can. Afterwards the soviet union found out were the bases were. So they took some leftovers and tried to re-construct it. But then USA struct back! manufacturing the first rocket, that entered earth atmosphere . However then the almighty soviets took it one step further by making a satellite and a rocket. This is how the space race occurred. (This paragraph is by Syedul Khan)
